The Global Education Program (GEP) team are inviting Expressions of Interest from academic or professional staff who are seeking Australian Government funding to support a credit-bearing overseas mobility project for eligible undergraduate students, to be delivered in 2023.

The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region. It is also intended to be transformational, deepening Australia’s relationships in the region, both at the individual level and through expanding university, business, and other links.

The round has not officially opened yet, but previous eligibility criteria and guidelines are expected to be applied again for the 2023 round. Applications were significantly simplified in the 2022 round, and these can be viewed here along with DFAT’s, ‘Advice to Applicants‘. We have decided to open the EOI’s early to allow more time to develop the NCP project which usually has a short official application period. In addition, and for those new to developing overseas study programs, a faculty-led mobility program handbook can be viewed here.

An EOI can be submitted here, and the closing date is Friday 18 February 2022. Once the EOI has been reviewed, the GEP team will be in touch with next steps and further advice. Please don’t hesitate to express your interest in this fantastic opportunity for USQ students.
